TGIF… Almost. :)

I know, I know… It’s been almost three weeks since I last posted. Bad blogger, is what I am. It actually doesn’t feel like three weeks has gone by. It feels more like one!  Things are crazy busy here, as always!

I am pleased to announce that we are 99% finished with the repairs from the flood! All that is left is to fix a few shingles on the roof that were damaged when the tree fell.  Thank goodness! I was a bit tired of having strange men wondering around my house all day.  I am absolutely in love with my new HVAC, it runs like a dream! Thank goodness too, because my old one sucked!

I’ve been out of commision the past week with pink eye… I actually think I have it in both eyes, and due to my constant rubbing, I think I scratched my cornea in one eye. NOT FUN!  The only thing that actually helps, is to put ice on my eyes. (Feels great!)  Unfortuantely, I can’t get anything done with an ice pack covering my face. So when I have to get something done, like cook dinner, etc… I have to strap an ice pack to my head, and can only cover one eye at a time. It’s quite a sight, I tell you. But sometimes I can actually lay down and cover both eyes. LOL

I’ve been reading a lot lately… mostly I’ve been staying up late and reading through the night. (Doesn’t make for a happy person in the mornings, but I digress…)  I am about 10 books away from reading 50 books this year! What a goal! Being as there is only around 7 weeks left in the year, I need to get cracking to reach that goal! I know, my original goal was 75 books, but there is no way I can accomplish that. 50 is a better goal than I have ever read before!  Go me!

I went off ‘the pill’ about a month and a half ago. I was just tired of the hormones and all the side effects that go along with birth control. I have to say, I feel pretty great being off of them. Other than my hormones being completely out of whack, but what’s new there? After 5 years, I am hoping my body can get back to normal. I went in for my yearly GYN appointment yesterday, and we talked about a tubal ligation. I gave her the go ahead! (Still can’t believe I did it.)  She wanted to do it tomorrow (Friday), but she didn’t have any OR’s available. So we are waiting until next month.  I am a bit shocked that I decided to do this, but I am 99.9% sure I’m done having kids.  John is 150% sure he’s done having them. LOL   I’m excited to get it over with though. :)

With the holidays around the corner, I’ve started thinking Turkey…. Last year, I made the BEST turkey I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to do it again this year! I actually have to cook two turkeys, one for John, and then one for the family get together we are having at my grandmothers house.  Two turkeys?!  No pressure at all. :)  I can’t wait for the holiday’s to get here, I’m so excited! I have to start Christmas shopping soon… there’s so much to buy!

Anyways…

This has been a rambling post, and it probably doesn’t make much sense. LOL (Blame it on the Actifed!)  I’m heading out now, time to take a shower and settle in to finish up some reading. Have a good night!
